Sometimes (that means specifically in the case of you and me, Stephanie) we are called by our Lord to prepare ourselves for something. In your case by becoming completely qualified as a DCE, in my case by completing the MA we worked on together. Then the Lord uses our skills, abilities and gifts by means of the Spirit to effect His will through our mission, whatever that is. We may never know what He is actually doing. We may, as finally in my case, have a job which utilizes the credential. Credentials are worldly, and He may have no need for them; but, He has us procure them when they may be necessary for future work to which He specifically calls us.

Is that too cryptic?
